The CT100 series of Line Pull and Torque gauges are designed to be used during the makeup of drill pipe, drill collars, drilling tools, casing, and tubing. Provide a reading of "Line Pull" in kilograms, decanewtons, or pounds that can be conveniently converted to torque by multiplying the tong handle length.
The CT101 series of gauges make up casing and tubing and provide a direct reading in foot pounds or meters/kilograms. All systems consist of a Hydraulic gauge in either a 6" or 8.5" version equipped with a target pointer, a brass tong pull cylinder or compression cell, a high-pressure hose, a hand pump, and fluid. The target pointer is manually set to the desired torque; each gauge comes equipped with a Damper Block
which is used to dampen the signal to the point where the dial readout pointer does not fluctuate
01 OPERATIONAL DESCRIPTION
The hydraulic cylinder transmits a load indication to the indicator by transforming the applied pull to hydraulic pressure. This hydraulic pressure moves the bourdon tube which in turn drives the pointer to the applied pull indication.
02 OPERATIONAL PRINCIPLES
Both the CT100 and CT101 series of instruments operate on the same principle. Tension is applied to the load cell or in the case of a compression load cell a compression force is applied causing fluid in the load cell to be transmitted to the Bourdon tube in the gauge through the hose, this pressure causes the dial reading pointer to move and provide a dial indication of the applied load
